What’s on for Early Career Teachers and their Supervisors in DET’s South Western Sydney Region
Early Career Teachers
Welcome to your information website for Terms 3 & 4 of 2007. Early Career Teachers are those within their first three years of professional practice. Professional learning workshops are offered to assist Early Career Teachers their Induction to the DET workplace, the NSW Institute of Teachers’ Accreditation process and to focus on building capacity through skill development. Regardless of the employment category you belong to, either permanently appointed and on probation, a temporary placement or a casual teacher, courses and workshops are on offer to support your needs and interests.
Supervisors
Professional learning opportunities also exist for Supervisors of Early Career Teachers. An increase in the number of Early Career Teachers within the Region has resulted in many staff assuming responsibility for the leadership role of supervision and the necessity for up-skilling in the areas of Accreditation and Induction. This website provides a registration facility to enrol in workshops which support professional learning in these areas.
